2 Timothy 4:6-8
Faithful endurance in Christ leads to the promised crown of righteousness.
6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
7 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.
8 From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

This passage presents Paul's final testimony as he nears the end of his earthly ministry. Drawing on sacrificial and athletic imagery, it shows that faithful endurance in Christ leads to confident hope in the righteous Judge.

Preach the Word and Finish the Race
Because the time of departure is near and deception is increasing, Timothy must faithfully preach the Word, endure hardship, and complete his ministry as Paul has done.
