Jude 1:24–25

God's Preserving Grace: Security and Eternal Glory

The church’s security rests in the preserving grace and saving glory of God.

Jude 1:24–25 (BSB)

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy—

25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

What is the big idea of Jude 1:24–25?

The church’s security rests in the preserving grace and saving glory of God.

How does Jude 1:24–25 point to Christ?

The only God saves through Jesus Christ, preserving His people by grace and presenting them blameless with joy; through the cross and resurrection, believers are secured for eternal glory.

Authorial Intent

To ground believers’ assurance in God’s preserving power and to ascribe eternal glory to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ.

Literary Context

Verses 24–25 form the climactic doxology of the epistle. The tone shifts from exhortation (‘keep yourselves,’ v. 21) to praise (‘to Him who is able’). The structure highlights divine ability (v. 24), future presentation in glory (v. 24), and eternal praise to the only God through Jesus Christ (v. 25). The letter ends where confidence must ultimately rest—on God’s preserving grace and eternal sovereignty.

Chapter: Jude 1

Contend for the Faith, Keep Yourselves in God’s Love, and Rest in the God Who Keeps You

Because ungodly distortion threatens the church, believers must contend for the once-for-all faith with discernment, mercy, and confidence in the God who keeps his people.
