Who is Achaicus in the Bible?

Achaicus was a Christian from Corinth who, along with Stephanas and Fortunatus, traveled to visit the apostle Paul during his ministry. He is mentioned only in 1 Corinthians 16:17, where Paul expresses his joy at their arrival, noting that they refreshed his spirit and made up for the Corinthians' absence. These three men likely brought news, correspondence, and supplies from the Corinthian church to Paul. Paul's response to Achaicus and his companions demonstrates the significance of faithful service and encouragement within the early church, as he urges the Corinthians to recognize and honor those who dedicate themselves to such ministry.
