Aeneas Αἰνέας
Paralyzed man in Lydda healed by Peter
Who is Aeneas in the Bible?
Aeneas was a paralyzed man from the town of Lydda who was healed by the apostle Peter in the first century. He had been bedridden and unable to walk for eight years when Peter came to Lydda and commanded him to rise in the name of Jesus Christ, saying, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat" (Acts 9:33-34). Immediately and completely healed, Aeneas stood up, which served as a powerful sign to the people of Lydda and Sharon who witnessed the miracle. His healing became a turning point in the spread of Christianity in that region, as many residents turned to faith in the Lord because of what they saw.
