Spy from the tribe of Dan

Who is Ammiel in the Bible?

Ammiel, son of Gemalli, was the representative from the tribe of Dan among the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout the land of Canaan (Numbers 13:12). He was one of twelve tribal leaders chosen to explore the promised land, spending forty days investigating the territory and its inhabitants before returning to report to Moses, Aaron, and the Israelite congregation. His role in this pivotal moment reflects the significance of the spying mission, which ultimately tested Israel's faith and obedience, as the negative report from ten spies, including Ammiel's account, led to the nation's forty-year wandering in the wilderness.
