Son of Deuel, leader of the tribe of Gad

Who is Eliasaph in the Bible?

Eliasaph was the son of Deuel and served as the leader of the tribe of Gad during the Israelites' wilderness journey following their exodus from Egypt. He is mentioned in Numbers 1:14, 2:14, 7:42-47, and 10:20 as one of the tribal representatives chosen by Moses and Aaron for the census of Israel. As the leader of Gad, Eliasaph positioned his tribe on the south side of the tabernacle, presented their offerings during the dedication ceremony, and led them in the marching order when Israel departed from Mount Sinai. His role demonstrates the organizational structure God established for the Israelite community, with each tribe having a designated leader responsible for spiritual and practical matters during their wilderness wanderings.
