Horite chief in Seir; son of Seir the Horite.

Who is Ezer in the Bible?

Ezer was a Horite chief in the land of Seir and one of the sons of Seir the Horite (Genesis 36:21; 1 Chronicles 1:38). He is listed among the leaders of the Horite clans who inhabited Seir before the descendants of Esau took control of the region (Genesis 36:30; 1 Chronicles 1:42). Ezer fathered three sons: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan (Genesis 36:27; 1 Chronicles 1:42). As a tribal chief, Ezer represents the pre-Edomite population of Seir, which Scripture notes was eventually dispossessed by Esau's descendants, marking an important transition in the settlement history of that region.
