Hakkoz הַקוֹץ
A priest in the time of David.
Who is Hakkoz in the Bible?
Hakkoz was a priest during the reign of King David who served as the head of the seventh priestly division (1 Chronicles 24:10). David organized the priests into 24 divisions, each responsible for serving in the temple for a week at a time, twice a year, and Hakkoz's family was assigned to this seventh position in the rotation. This organizational system ensured that all priestly families had regular opportunities to serve and that temple worship could continue in an orderly and consistent manner throughout the year.
