Harsha חַרְשָׁא
Ancestor of temple servants who returned from exile.
Who is Harsha in the Bible?
Harsha was an ancestor of temple servants, known as Nethinim, who returned to Jerusalem following the Babylonian exile. His descendants are listed among the 392 Nethinim who came back with Zerubbabel, as documented in both Ezra 2:52 and Nehemiah 7:54. The Nethinim were assigned to assist the Levites in performing various duties within the temple service. Though Harsha himself is not mentioned elsewhere in Scripture, his name appears in these genealogical records as a marker of those faithful families who helped restore worship in the rebuilt temple after exile.
