A musician in the temple, son of Jeduthun.

Who is Hashabiah in the Bible?

Hashabiah was a musician in the temple of Israel during King David's reign, serving as one of the sons of Jeduthun, a leading musical director appointed by the king (1 Chronicles 25:3, 25:19). Along with his brothers, he was skilled in playing lyres and harps as part of the formal temple worship service. Hashabiah and the other musicians under Jeduthun's leadership not only performed instrumentally but also prophesied, combining musical talent with spiritual gifts under the direction of the king. His inclusion in David's carefully organized system of temple musicians demonstrates the important role that skilled, dedicated musicians played in Israel's worship and spiritual life.
