Who is Hezir in the Bible?

Hezir was a priest during the reign of King David who led the 17th division of priestly service in the temple (1 Chronicles 24:15). David organized the priesthood into 24 divisions, each responsible for serving in the temple for one week at a time, twice per year, and Hezir was appointed as the head of one of these divisions. His inclusion in the priestly divisions reflects the careful organization David established to ensure regular, systematic worship and service in God's house.
