Who is Jehu in the Bible?
Jehu, son of the prophet Hanani, was a messenger of God who served during the reigns of Baasha and Jehoshaphat in the divided kingdom (1 Kings 16:1, 16:7). He delivered God's judgment against King Baasha of Israel, condemning his wickedness and prophesying the destruction of his dynasty. Later, Jehu confronted King Jehoshaphat of Judah, rebuking him for forming an alliance with the wicked King Ahab and warning that God's wrath would come upon him for this unfaithful partnership (2 Chronicles 19:2).
