Who is Jeshua in the Bible?

Jeshua was a prominent Levite leader who played a crucial role in restoring Jerusalem and the temple after the Babylonian exile. He was among the first group of exiles who returned to Jerusalem under Zerubbabel's leadership, as recorded in Ezra 2:40 and Ezra 3:9, and later appears in Nehemiah's accounts as a key figure in rebuilding the temple and reading the Law to the people (Nehemiah 8:7).
