Who is Jezer in the Bible?

Jezer was a son of Naphtali and the founder of the Jezerite clan within the tribe of Naphtali. He is mentioned in the genealogical records of Genesis 46:24, Numbers 26:49, and 1 Chronicles 7:13 as part of the family line established when Jacob and his descendants lived in Canaan before their migration to Egypt. During the wilderness census recorded in Numbers 26:49, the Jezerites are specifically identified as one of the clans descended from Naphtali, demonstrating Jezer's significance in the tribal structure of Israel. Though little is known about Jezer's individual life, his importance lies in his role as an ancestral figure whose descendants formed an identifiable clan within one of Israel's twelve tribes.

Biography

Jezer was one of the sons of Naphtali, as listed in the genealogies of Gen.46.24, Num.26.49, and 1Ch.7.13. He was born during the period when Israel (or 'Jacob') and his family lived in Canaan, before their migration to Egypt. Jezer became the founder of the Jezerite clan within the tribe of Naphtali. In the census taken in the wilderness of Sinai, the Jezerite clan is mentioned as one of the clans descended from Naphtali (Num.26.49).
