Who is Malchijah in the Bible?

Malchijah was the son of Harim and a resident of Jerusalem during the time of Nehemiah's leadership. According to Nehemiah 3:11, he participated in the reconstruction of Jerusalem's wall following the exile, working alongside Hashub, the son of Pahath-Moab, to repair a specific section of the fortification. Though Malchijah is mentioned only briefly in Scripture, his involvement in this massive rebuilding project demonstrates the communal effort required to restore Jerusalem's defenses and symbolizes the spiritual renewal of God's people after their return from captivity.
