A Benjamite who lived in Jerusalem after the exile.

Who is Meshullam in the Bible?

Meshullam was a Benjamite who lived in Jerusalem following the Babylonian exile, as recorded in 1 Chronicles 9:7. He is mentioned in the genealogical list of those who resettled in Jerusalem after the captivity, appearing alongside other Benjamites including Sallu and Ibneiah. Meshullam was descended from Jeshaiah through the line of Hodaviah and Hassenuah. Though little detail is given about his individual life, his inclusion in this post-exilic census reflects the restoration of the Jewish community and the reestablishment of Jerusalem's population after the return from Babylon.
