Who is Micaiah in the Bible?

Micaiah, also known as Micah, was a Levite who served during the reign of King Josiah of Judah (2 Kings 22:12). After the Book of the Law was discovered during temple repairs, Josiah sent Micaiah as part of a delegation to inquire of the Lord about the contents of the newly found scripture. The delegation consulted the prophetess Huldah, who delivered a message of judgment for Judah's past disobedience but confirmed that Josiah's sincere repentance had been heard by God (2 Kings 22:14-20). Micaiah's role in this significant encounter highlights the importance of seeking divine guidance and demonstrates that he was a trusted religious leader in Josiah's court during a pivotal moment in Judah's spiritual reformation.
