False prophetess opposed Nehemiah

Who is Noadiah in the Bible?

Noadiah was a false prophetess during the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls in the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 6:14). She and other false prophets were hired by Nehemiah's enemies, Tobiah and Sanballat, to intimidate and discourage him from completing the reconstruction project. Rather than being swayed by their deceptive prophecies, Nehemiah recognized their opposition as malicious and prayed for strength to continue his work. Noadiah's opposition represents the spiritual resistance that faithful leaders often face when undertaking God's work, and her eventual failure demonstrates that deceit cannot ultimately thwart God's purposes.
