Who is Oholiab in the Bible?
Oholiab was a skilled craftsman from the tribe of Dan whom God appointed to work alongside Bezalel on the construction of the tabernacle (Exodus 31:6, 35:34). He was filled with the Spirit of God and given divine wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship, making him one of the primary overseers of the tabernacle's construction (Exodus 36:1-2). Together with Bezalel, Oholiab was responsible for creating the sacred furnishings, altar, and priestly garments according to God's precise instructions given to Moses (Exodus 38:23). His exceptional skill and obedience were essential to establishing a functional place of worship for the Israelites during their wilderness journey.
Biography
Oholiab was a skilled craftsman from the tribe of Dan who was appointed by God to work alongside Bezalel in the construction of the tabernacle (Exo.31.6; 35.34; 36.1-2; 38.23). He was filled with the Spirit of God and given wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship (Exo.35.34). Oholiab and Bezalel were responsible for overseeing the work of the tabernacle and creating the sacred furnishings and garments according to the divine instructions given to Moses (Exo.36.1). Their skillful work was essential in establishing a place of worship for the Israelites during their journey in the wilderness.
