Who is Parmenas in the Bible?

Parmenas was one of seven men chosen by the apostles to serve as deacons in the early church at Jerusalem, as recorded in Acts 6:5. As the number of believers grew, the apostles needed help distributing food and caring for widows in the community, so they instructed the church to select seven men of good reputation who were full of the Spirit and wisdom. Parmenas was selected alongside Stephen, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, and Nicolas to fulfill this vital role. Biography
