Secundus Σεκοῦνδος
Thessalonian believer who accompanied Paul
Who is Secundus in the Bible?
Secundus was a believer from Thessalonica who traveled with the apostle Paul during his missionary journey to Jerusalem (Acts 20:4). He joined Paul and several other delegates in Troas after Paul had spent time in Greece, likely representing the church at Thessalonica. These companions probably traveled with Paul to deliver financial assistance to the Jerusalem church and to strengthen bonds between the various Christian communities. Though Secundus appears only briefly in Scripture, his presence illustrates the growing network of believers who supported Paul's mission and the cooperation between churches in the early Christian movement.
