Uzai אוּזַי
Father of Palal, who repaired Jerusalem's wall
Who is Uzai in the Bible?
Uzai was the father of Palal, a worker who helped repair Jerusalem's wall during the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3:25). Though Uzai himself is not described in detail, his son Palal is identified as one of the dedicated laborers who reconstructed a section of the wall next to the work of Pedaiah son of Parosh. Uzai's mention in scripture, though brief, connects him to the significant post-exilic effort to rebuild Jerusalem's defenses and restore the city after the Babylonian captivity.
