Levite musician in the time of David
Who is Uzziel in the Bible?
Uzziel, also called Azarel, was a Levite musician who served during King David's reign as one of the sons of Heman, the king's seer (1 Chronicles 25:4). He was appointed along with his brothers to provide music and praise in the house of the Lord, trained in singing to the Lord with musical instruments. Uzziel and his family were part of the Levitical choir that led worship and gave thanks to God during Israel's religious services. His role demonstrates the importance of music and worship in ancient Israelite religious practice and the central place of Levites in facilitating communal praise.
