Zadok צָדוֹק
Father of Jerusha, wife of King Uzziah
Who is Zadok in the Bible?
Zadok was the father of Jerusha, who married King Uzziah (also called Azariah) of Judah and became queen (2 Kings 15:33, 2 Chronicles 27:1). Through his daughter, Zadok was connected to the Judahite royal line, as Jerusha and Uzziah's son Jotham eventually succeeded his father as king. Though little is recorded about Zadok himself, his mention in Scripture establishes the genealogical connections within Judah's monarchy during the eighth century BC.
Biography
Zadok is mentioned as the father of Jerusha, who was the wife of King Uzziah (also known as Azariah) of Judah. Jerusha's mother is not named in the biblical text.
