Priest appointed as a treasurer
Who is Zadok in the Bible?
Zadok was a priest appointed by Nehemiah to serve as a treasurer of the temple storehouses in Jerusalem (Nehemiah 13:13). He was chosen alongside Shelemiah, Pedaiah, and Hanan because of his reputation for trustworthiness and integrity. Zadok's primary responsibility was to oversee the collection and distribution of tithes, including grain, new wine, and oil, which were contributed by the people to support the Levites and priests.
