Son of Meshelemiah, a Korahite gatekeeper

Who is Zebadiah in the Bible?

Zebadiah was the firstborn son of Meshelemiah, a Korahite gatekeeper who served during the time of King David (1 Chronicles 26:2). As a member of the Korahite family, a Levitical clan assigned to temple duties, Zebadiah held responsibility for guarding the gates and entrances to the sacred areas of the tabernacle and temple. His position as the firstborn son would have granted him leadership authority among his brothers in their gatekeeping duties.
