Descendant of Parosh who returned with Ezra

Who is Zechariah in the Bible?

Zechariah was a descendant of Parosh who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian exile under the leadership of Ezra the scribe (Ezra 8:3). He is listed among the men who made the journey back to the promised land during the post-exile restoration period, when Jewish exiles were rebuilding their community and religious life in Jerusalem. While little is known about Zechariah beyond his mention in Ezra's record, his inclusion in this roster highlights the faithful remnant of Israel who responded to God's call to return home and restore worship in the rebuilt temple.
