Where is Adadah in the Bible?
Adadah was a town located in the southernmost region of Judah, mentioned in the Book of Joshua as part of the territory allotted to the tribe of Judah. The exact location of Adadah remains uncertain among biblical scholars, though it is generally placed in the arid southern wilderness of Judah, somewhere between Arad and Beer-sheba. Some scholars identify it with the site of Ararah, approximately seven miles southeast of Beer-sheba, while others propose it was located near Arad, about eight or nine miles to the southeast. The town appears primarily in biblical lists of Judean cities and may be related to Aroer mentioned in 1 Samuel 30:28, though this identification remains debated among experts. Though limited in biblical narrative prominence, Adadah represents the frontier settlements of ancient Judah in its most remote southern territories.
