Where is Akrabbim in the Bible?
Akrabbim was a mountain pass located in the Negev Desert in southern Judah, marking the southwestern boundary of the tribe of Judah near the Dead Sea. The name means "Ascent of the Scorpions," and it appears in the Bible as a key geographical marker in the books of Numbers, Joshua, and Judges, defining the territorial limits of Judah's inheritance. This pass held strategic importance as it formed part of the border between Judah and Edom, and it later became a significant military location when Judas Maccabeus achieved a notable victory against the Edomites there during the intertestamental period.
