Where is Amana in the Bible?
Amana in the Bible refers to a mountain range located in the Anti-Lebanon region, in the far north of Syria near the course of the Abana River. The name appears in the Song of Solomon, where it is used in a poetic description of the beloved's beauty and is mentioned alongside other northern geographical features. Some scholars suggest it may alternatively refer to Mt. Amanus in the extreme northern part of Syria. Though Amana is mentioned only briefly in Scripture, its inclusion in Solomon's love poetry gives it significance as a symbol of beauty and distance in the biblical text.
