Where is Anim in the Bible?

Anim was an ancient town located in the hill country of Judah, situated south of es-Semu'a in what is now the West Bank region. The town is mentioned in the book of Joshua as one of the cities allotted to the tribe of Judah during the division of the Promised Land. While Anim appears only briefly in biblical records, archaeological evidence suggests it was a site of significant importance in antiquity, with surface remains indicating continuous occupation through the Byzantine period, when a Christian town called Anem existed at the location in the 4th century. The site reflects the broader pattern of settlements established throughout Judah's hill country during the early Israelite period.
