Where is Beth-arabah in the Bible?

Beth-arabah was a town located in the wilderness region west of the Dead Sea, in the area known as the Wilderness of Judah. This settlement was allotted to both the tribes of Judah and Benjamin during the division of Canaan, as recorded in the Book of Joshua (15:6 and 18:22). The exact modern location of Beth-arabah has not yet been identified by scholars, though it appears to have been an important territorial boundary marker between these two tribes. The name may also be connected to Bethabara, and biblical scholars note that these names were sometimes confused in ancient texts.
