Where is Beth-gamul in the Bible?

Beth-gamul was a Moabite town located east of the Moabite plateau, south of Medeba in what is now modern-day Jordan. The town appears in the Bible only in Jeremiah 48:23, where the prophet includes it in his prophecy of judgment against the nation of Moab. Scholars believe Beth-gamul was likely destroyed or captured during the Babylonian invasions of the region in the early sixth century BC. The town's mention in Jeremiah's oracle reflects the theological theme of God's judgment extending beyond Israel to neighboring nations that opposed His purposes.
