(Jos 24:30; compare Jud 2:9); see TIMNATH-HERES. The "brooks," or rather the wadies or "watercourses" of Gaash are mentioned as the native place of Hiddai (2Sa 23:30), or Hurai (1Ch 11:32), one of David's heroes.

Where is Gaash in the Bible?

Gaash was a mountain located in the region of Ephraim in ancient Israel. It is most notable as the burial place of Joshua, the leader who conquered and divided the land of Canaan among the Israelite tribes (Joshua 24:30; Judges 2:9). The mountain is also associated with the "brooks of Gaash," which served as the homeland of Hiddai, one of David's mighty warriors (2 Samuel 23:30). While Gaash held significant religious importance in Israel's early history, its exact modern location has not been identified with certainty by scholars.
