Where is Gerasa in the Bible?

Gerasa was a region located southeast of the Sea of Galilee in what is now Jordan. This area appears in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke as the location where Jesus performed a significant healing miracle on a demon-possessed man. The account, often called the healing of the Gerasene demoniac, demonstrates Jesus's power over spiritual forces and his compassion toward the afflicted.
