Where is Gidom in the Bible?
Gidom was a location near Gibeah in the territory of Benjamin, in the central highlands of ancient Israel. The place is mentioned in the Book of Judges as the site where Benjamites were pursued and decisively defeated during the Benjamite War, a conflict described in Judges 20:45. This battle occurred after the other Israelite tribes united against Benjamin in response to a grave crime committed in the city of Gibeah. The defeat at Gidom represented a turning point in the conflict and demonstrated the consequences of the tribe's refusal to hold its own people accountable for their actions.
