Where is Heshmon in the Bible?
Heshmon was a town located in the Negev region of southern Canaan and was allotted to the tribe of Judah according to Joshua 15:27. The town served as part of Judah's territorial inheritance in the arid southern portion of the promised land. Though little is known about specific events that occurred at Heshmon, its mention in Joshua's account of land distribution reflects the careful allocation of towns and boundaries established after the Israelite conquest of Canaan. The exact location of Heshmon in the modern landscape remains uncertain, though scholars continue to search for archaeological evidence of this biblical settlement.
