Where is Hor_Mount in the Bible?
Mount Hor is a mountain located in the region of Edom, in what is now southern Jordan near the border with Israel, along the route the Israelites traveled during their wilderness wandering. The mountain is most famous as the place where Aaron, the brother of Moses and the first high priest of Israel, died and was buried during the exodus from Egypt (Numbers 20:22-29). According to the biblical account, God commanded Moses to bring Aaron to the top of Mount Hor, where Aaron's priestly garments were transferred to his son Eleazar before his death. This event marked a significant moment in Israel's wilderness journey and the transition of the priesthood to the next generation.
