Where is Karkor in the Bible?

Karkor was a location in ancient Syria, situated south of Hamath in the region east of the Jordan River. This place is mentioned in the Book of Judges as the site where the Israelite judge Gideon pursued and defeated the Midianite kings Zebah and Zalmunna, completing his military campaign against the Midianite oppressors (Judges 8:10). The battle at Karkor marked a decisive victory that helped deliver Israel from Midianite domination during the period of the judges. While the exact location remains uncertain by modern standards, Karkor's biblical significance lies in its connection to Gideon's faith-driven military leadership and God's deliverance of Israel.
