Where is Lasea in the Bible?

Lasea was a city on the island of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea, located near the harbor of Fair Havens. It appears in the New Testament in Acts 27:8, where it is mentioned during the Apostle Paul's journey to Rome as a prisoner. When Paul's ship was forced to anchor at Fair Havens due to bad weather, the nearby city of Lasea would have served as a source for purchasing supplies and provisions for the crew. The captain's reluctance to winter at Fair Havens may have been influenced by the need to travel to Lasea for stores, as well as the poor conditions of the anchorage itself. This brief biblical reference provides insight into the practical challenges faced during Paul's missionary travels and his famous shipwreck.
