Where is Makaz in the Bible?
Makaz was a place located in the territory of Dan in ancient Israel, situated in the region that corresponds to modern-day central Palestine. It appears in the Bible as one of the twelve administrative districts established by King Solomon to organize his kingdom (1 Kings 4:9). Makaz may be identical with cities mentioned in Joshua 19:41-42 that marked the border of the tribe of Dan's territory. Some scholars suggest it could also be the same location as Mejargon, though the exact identification remains uncertain among biblical archaeologists.
