Moresheth light
Moresheth was the hometown of the prophet Micah, located in Judah.
Where is Moresheth in the Bible?
Moresheth was a small town in the kingdom of Judah, located in the southwestern part of the country, and is best known as the hometown of the prophet Micah. The prophet's name itself reflects this connection, as he is often called "Micah of Moresheth" in biblical references, particularly in the book of Jeremiah. Though little is recorded about the town itself, Moresheth gained spiritual significance through Micah's prophetic ministry during the 8th century BC, when he delivered messages of judgment and hope to Judah and Israel. The town is mentioned in Jeremiah 26:18, where it appears in connection with the prophet's legacy and his warnings about Jerusalem's destruction.
