Where is Ono in the Bible?
Ono was a town located in the territory of Benjamin, in the region northwest of Lydda (modern-day Lod) in ancient Palestine. It is mentioned primarily in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah as a settlement occupied by Benjamites after the return from exile. The town gained biblical significance as the site where Sanballat and his allies attempted to lure Nehemiah into a meeting in one of the villages in the plain of Ono, a stratagem Nehemiah refused in order to continue his work rebuilding Jerusalem's walls. Ono is represented today by the modern village of Kefr Ana in the northwestern region of the ancient Benjamite territory.
