Sebam was one of the towns in the territory of Reuben, east of the Jordan River (Num. 32:3).
Where is Sebam in the Bible?
Sebam was a town located in the territory of Reuben, situated east of the Jordan River in the region of Transjordan. It is mentioned in Numbers 32:3 as one of the settlements that the Reubenites identified as suitable for their livestock and families during the Israelite conquest and division of Canaan. This town held geographical and tribal significance as part of the inheritance allocated to the tribe of Reuben when they chose to settle on the eastern side of the Jordan rather than in Canaan proper. The mention of Sebam reflects the historical record of how the twelve tribes distributed the promised land among themselves.
