Where is Shen in the Bible?

Shen was a location in ancient Israel where the prophet Samuel erected the Ebenezer stone to commemorate a significant Israelite victory over the Philistines, as recorded in 1 Samuel 7:12. The place is situated in the region between Mizpah and the central highlands of Israel, and scholars believe it may be represented by the modern site of Ain Sinia, located north of Beitin. The Ebenezer stone, whose name means "stone of help," served as a permanent reminder of God's deliverance and divine assistance in the battle. This act of memorial worship was central to Samuel's role as a spiritual leader who called Israel back to faithfulness during a period of Philistine oppression.
