Where is Shikkeron in the Bible?
Shikkeron was a town located on the northern border of Judah's territory in ancient Israel, mentioned in the Book of Joshua (15:11) as part of the boundary description of Judah's land inheritance. The town sat near Mount Baalah and extended toward the Mediterranean Sea in what is now the coastal region of modern Israel. While the exact location remains uncertain, scholars have proposed Tell es-Sellakeh, situated northwest of Akir, as a possible identification based on the natural topographical features that would have marked Judah's border. Shikkeron's primary biblical significance is its role as a boundary marker in Joshua's account of the territorial divisions among the twelve tribes of Israel.
