Where is Tabor in the Bible?
Mount Tabor is a prominent mountain located in the territory of Issachar in northern Israel, near the border between Issachar and Zebulun in the Galilee region. The mountain appears in several biblical contexts, most notably as the gathering place where Deborah and Barak assembled Israel's forces to fight against Sisera and the Canaanites (Judges 4-5). Mount Tabor is also traditionally identified as the location of Jesus's Transfiguration, where he appeared in glory before Peter, James, and John (Matthew 17, Mark 9, Luke 9). Additionally, there is a reference to an oak tree called Tabor near Bethel, which appears in Samuel's prophetic message to King Saul (1 Samuel 10:3). The mountain's significance in biblical history makes it an important geographical and spiritual landmark in ancient Israel.

ISBE 1915 (Public Domain)l list in Jos 21:24 f contains no name like this. There is no indication of its position. Some have thought that it may correspond to Daberath in the territory of Issachar (21:28), now represented by Deburiyeh on the western slope of Mt. Tabor; others that it may be the mountain itself; and yet others that it may be a city on the mountain, which probably was occupied from very early times. There is a Tabor mentioned as on the border of Issachar (Jos 19:22); but that is almost certainly the mountain. It has been suggested that Tabor in 1Ch 6:17 may be a contraction of Chisloth-tabor (Jos 19:12), the modern Iksal, 3 miles West of the mountain. No certainty is possible.

(tabhor, har tabhor; oros Thabor, to Itaburion): This mountain seems to be named as on the border of Issachar (Jos 19:22). It is possibly identical with the mountain to which
