Where is Thebes in the Bible?

Thebes was an ancient Egyptian city located in Upper Egypt along the Nile River, in the region near modern-day Luxor. In the Bible, Thebes appears primarily in prophecies of judgment against Egypt, mentioned in the books of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Nahum as a symbol of Egypt's wealth and power that would be brought low. The prophet Jeremiah specifically declares God's judgment against Thebes (Jeremiah 46:25), while Ezekiel describes its destruction (Ezekiel 30:14-16), and Nahum references it as an example of a mighty city that fell (Nahum 3:8).
