To defraud someone of what is rightfully theirs, especially through breach of trust or withholding owed support.

(στερέω, to rob), [in LXX: Exo.21:10 (גָּרַע), Deu.24:14 (עָשַׁק), Mal.3:5, Sir.4:1 29:6-7 31:21-22 * ;] to defraud, deprive of, despoil (in cl. chiefly of the misappropriation of trust funds, Field, Notes, 33; cf.
