Who is Malluch in the Bible?

Malluch was a priest who lived during the postexilic period under Nehemiah's leadership. He appears in Scripture as one of the religious leaders who sealed the covenant in Jerusalem, pledging the people of Israel to follow the Law of Moses, keep the Sabbath holy, and support the temple service (Nehemiah 10:4). Malluch is also mentioned among the priests who had returned from Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel and as part of the priestly families serving under the high priest Joiakim (Nehemiah 12:2, 12:14).
